Palworld overhauled the breeding system. All old formulas from Early Access no longer work. If you are using an outdated breeding calculator, you are getting wrong results. Here is everything that changed and how to breed the best Pals now.
How Breeding Works in 1.0
Every Pal has a hidden Breeding Power value (1-9999). When two Pals breed, the offspring is determined by: Child Power = floor((ParentA_Power + ParentB_Power + 1) / 2). The child is the Pal whose Breeding Power is closest to this result.
Must-Know Breeding Paths
Penking + Bushi = Anubis — the classic early-game path. Unlock at Level 19.
Anubis + Suzaku = Faleris — fastest flying mount before Jetragon.
Mossanda + Grizzbolt = Grizzbolt — power-breed for electric dominance.
Penking + Beakon = Ragnahawk — Kindling 3 for early smelting.
Mutation Chances
1.0 introduced elemental mutations — ~2% chance to produce a variant element child. Plus stat boosts (+10-20%, ~5% chance) and rare passive inheritance (~3%).
